It has been said by the Jamb registrar that Over 1 Million Candidates have Registered for Jamb UTME 2013/2014 Examination . The Registrar of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Dibu Ojerinde, disclosed to the Newsmen that over one million candidates have registered for the 2013 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), according to him, more than five hundred thousand candidates are expected to further register.Prof. Ojerinde released the numbers of Jamb2013 candidates who have registered, on Saturday 26thJanuary 2013, at a press conference in Lagos. He commended on the Jamb E-testing method that will debut this year, that everything is going as planned. Professor Dibu Ojerinde told the Press that JAMB had secured 77 centres where the Computer-Based Testing (CBT)would be held . The professor further told the press that the CBT is not compulsory, as every candidate would have the Choice to choose either the paper-pencil testing (PPT) orthe dual-based testing (DBT), where candidates would read the question on the computer and answer on the paper with pencil. Professor Dibu Ojerinde saidthat before 2015, the CBT would become mandatory forall candidates, adding that out of the over 1million candidates who has registered for Jamb-UTME 2013, only about 4,000 had registered for the Computer Based Test(CBT) so far. The Professor outlined the benefits of the CBT. Below is his words in quote Here is Professor Dibu Ojerinde word about the Cbt and we quote; �The idea of the CBT is that after 30 minutes of the examination. And the candidates has left the exam hall, a graphical result of the test will be sent to the candidate's mobile phone number, while the specific scores will be released within the period of 4 days. By graphical result, I mean a text will be sent to the candidate stating the subject she or she passed averagely, which is between 50 percent and 59; above average 60 and above; and below average, which is 49 and below, The Paper Pencil Test, (PPT)and the Dual Based Test, (DBT) Jamb Examination would be held on the 27th of April 2013, after which if the PPT and DBT centres become exhausted, other candidates who didn't take the Test will have no other option but to sit for the Computer Based Test, (CBT). (If you don't know how to control the mouse or operate a computer advice that you be at your centre 4 hours before the exam!! To avoid stories that you came late.) Professor Dibu Ojerinde also reiterated the examination body's resolve to encourage reading culture among Nigerian students, by ensuring every candidate read, at least, two books, with questions to be set from them.
